How to Point Godaddy Domain to Bluehost Hosting?

Godaddy is one of the biggest domain name registrar available online when it comes to registering a new domain name many bloggers and internet marketers prefer to use Godaddy.

If you have ever checked Whois details of other websites then you may have noticed that most of the domains are registered with Godaddy.

It is because they are really very good for getting a domain registration and the time taken to resolve the DNS (Domain Nameservers) is very less when compared to other domain name registrars.

In this guide of mine, I will be telling you the procedure to point Godaddy domain to Bluehost hosting. It is very easy to do so all you have to do is set or change the name servers in Godaddy to the Bluehost name servers.

When you signup for Bluehost and buy shared hosting or VPS hosting from Bluehost them you will get the DNS from the company.

The default name servers of Bluehost is mentioned below.

  • NS1.Bluehost.com
  • NS2.Bluehost.com

Changing GoDaddy Nameservers to point at Bluehost server

To change them first and the foremost thing you need to do is to sign in into your account at Godaddy, you can use this link provided here to sign in into your account.

Now click on your username which is showed at the upper right corner of your window. And click on My Products.

All the product you have purchased from them will be displayed to you on your screen, They will be categorized by type like Domain Names, Web Hosting, SSL Certificates etc. You can refer the image embedded below for more details about My Products section.

Click on Domains and choose the domain name whose Name servers you are willing to change and click on Manage DNS. When you do so all the DNS settings of that domain name will be displayed to you on your screen, now you need to scroll down and look for nameservers section.

When you click on Change, they will ask you if you want to use the default DNS of Godaddy or custom DNS value. Custom DNS values are used in case you have a domain with Godaddy but you want to host it with Bluehost or any other web hosting company.

Use the drop down menu and select Custom from there after that enter the Domain Name Servers of Bluehost and click on Save.
